Mertens Fina. The design for the delicate cutlery comes from Thomas Feichtner, professor for product design at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel. After collaborations with Lobmeyr, the Neue Wiener Werkstätte, Vitra and FSB, Feichtner has found a congenial partner in this project in Carl Mertens. Thanks to the skillful craftsmanship of the Solingen cutlery specialists, FINA combines simple aesthetics with solid everyday suitability. Spoon, fork and knife are interconnected through their clear, classic geometric lines. Characteristic of this modern cutlery is the contrast between the broad square trowels and the fine lines of the stems, which. gives FINA its name. 18/10 high-grade steel in Germany. stainless steel is an alloy of steel, chrome and nickel which is used preferentially with quality cutlery. Chrome and nickel provide for the corrosion resistance and the softer shine which can be noticed on closer inspection. The steel of this cutlery includes 18% chrome and 10% nickel and is dishwasher safe and resistant against light acids and waters.
