Wilkens could win in the eighties

and nineties of the last century a row of famous designers to style different cutleries in stainless steel. As a result from this very fertile time we find even today still very successful designs of Katja Höltermann or Wolf Karnagel, all at the head, the married couple Ulla and Martin Kaufmann and Walter Storr. Thanks to all these designers the Design Collection of Wilkens even today can offer very excellent cutleries consistently successfully. To all at the head the pattern Palladio from 1992, stlyed by Ulla and Martin Kaufmann. This decent cutlery is one of the nicest, low-key but most successful cutleries from the stainless steel range. The draft to Palladio plays with hints to forms of the flora, very discreet and almost only for the knowing obviously: Subtle allusions to the shape of leaves or a pedicel. Nevertheless, the married couple Ulla and Martin Kaufmann also had created other successful cutleries for Wilkens. The model Rotondo penned by Walter Storr is the logical continuation of the traditional cutlery forms to a modern cutlery without any redundant ornaments, however, with absolutely objective dimensions and quite excellent qualities of haptics. Katja Höltermann sketched the almost masculine counterpart of the successful pattern Palladio: Cantone – partially dark matted, polished on the sideparts and the bowls, this striking cutlery has many resemblances to the cutleries from the outgoing Bauhaus era, however, this interprets unobstrusively anew and carries this spirit to the 21st century.

Well known is the designer Wolf

Karnagel who had proved his competence in the matter of table and cutlery for a long time with the KPM in Berlin or Rosenthal Porcelain before he had sketched with Wilkens the groundbreaking cutlery of the eighties, named Epoca. At almost the same time, in which he made the design for porcelain and cutlery jets of Lufthansa, Wolf Karnagel has styled a cutlery with a wide range for Wilkens in Bremen which also in the middle of the 80s was sketched and was produced.

Wilkens continues to maintain

this classic in his assortment and we are particularly glad about that that this pattern for some years also is available again in stainless steel 18/10. With all joy in the successful design and entitled pride of the company Wilkens in his design collection: this cutlery is pleasantly practical and a robust tools for every day. For an everyday life and style-conscious.

material

stainless

Stainless steel of home products is an alloy of steel, chrome and nickel which is dishwasher safe and resistant to corrosion by light organic and inorganic acids and water. To the cleaned steel the elements chrome (Cr) and nickel (Ni) are added and provide the corrosion resistance and the softer shine which can be noticed on closer inspection. High-grade steel - stainless steel can also contain other elements like molybdenum, vanadium and other more, however, common 18/10 steels with 18% of chrome and 10% of nickel is very popular. For low demands 18/0 steel is offered which contains no nickel and is notably less corrosion-resistant  and shining.
