During the “roaring twenties” (the years which followed World War One), North America was the place, which through its music, literature and lifestyle, best symbolized for the French, liberty and victory. Christofle, thought it apt to pay hommage to this phenomonen through a pattern in the Art-Deco style, calling it “America”. This pattern has become a modern classic. The cut-edges of the spatula highlight the solid elegance, achieved through a composition of very architecturally styled lines and angles. For many years this pattern was unique to Christofle. During the nineteen eighties, however, when Art-Deco came back into fashion, it was copied by numerous silversmiths.

The cutlery is made from base
metal with a silver plating in France. The silver is applied with a galvanic bath and is indicated in Germany usually in gramme for 12 forks and spoons, assumed with 24dm². In other countries such information predominantly is renounced. The surface is free of nickel.
Christofle America has knives
with a hollow handle. Knives with a hollow handle have a blade of special steel which is clearly sharper than a blade from an simple chrome steel.
