In 1916, the workshop draughtsmen

at Koch & Bergfeld – the predecessors of today's "designers" – “recreated” this cutlery pattern for modern man. They managed to move away from the sometimes overdone and therefore impractical styling of this epoch and develop an elegant new design vocabulary with fascinating decorative features echoing the floral ornamentation of the past.This ensures that Barock is a model which is both of its time and yet also perfect for the present day. The cutlery is made from base

metal with a silver plating in Germany. The silver is applied with a galvanic bath and is indicated in Germany usually in gramme for 12 forks and spoons, assumed with 24dm². In other countries such information predominantly is renounced. The surface is free of nickel. The Silver plating from Koch & Bergfeld corresponds to a thickness from 60 µm.
